The Role
Our partner, a vibrant and forward‑thinking Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, is seeking an experienced and passionate SENDCo to lead their SEN provision. You will:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement and monitor the school's SEND policy, ensuring compliance with the SEN Code of Practice.
- Assessment & Provision: Oversee the identification and assessment of pupils with SEND, coordinating appropriate interventions and personalised learning plans (EHCPs, IEPs).
- Team Management: Line manage a dedicated team of teaching assistants and support staff; deliver regular training and professional development.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Work closely with classroom teachers, senior leadership, external specialists, parents and carers to promote inclusive practice.
- Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and produce termly reports for Governors, the Local Authority and Ofsted inspections.
- Advocacy & Advice: Act as the key point of contact for SEND‑related queries and champion a culture of high expectations and achievement for all pupils.

Candidate Profile
- Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is willing to complete it within the first academic year).
- Has proven experience leading SEND provision in a school setting, ideally within an SEN specialist context.
- Demonstrates in‑depth knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice, EHCP processes and Local Authority frameworks.
- Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships.
- Shows resilience, creativity and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Is committed to inclusive values and raising outcomes for all pupils.
