We are looking for a qualified English Teacher for a well-regarded SEMH alternative provision in Chorley to engage small classes of young people with English. You will have responsibility for establishing student benchmarks and engaging them in lessons that suit their needs. This is an ideal opportunity for a teacher looking to have some freedom around their approach to teaching. You must hold Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) to be eligible for this position. This position is also temp-to-perm, with a contract offered if the placement is successful. This school supports secondary aged students, some of which are on EHCPs. Due to the nature of the students, you must be comfortable managing emotional dysregulation, challenging behaviour, and additional needs including ASD, ADHD & Anxiety. This provision brings a strong therapeutic approach, rather than a punitive one.
Your Role as an English Teacher

- Create and deliver lessons to suit the needs of the class

- Robust and comfortable with challenging behaviour
