Overview

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a specialist behavioural unit in Chester-le-Street to recruit a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant on a supply basis across the summer term, with the possibility of continuing into September.

Responsibilities

  • Support KS2 pupils within a behavioural or alternative provision setting.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and support staff to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning and behaviour plans.
  • Help pupils engage positively with learning and develop emotional regulation skills.
  • Create a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in KS2.
  • Experience supporting pupils with behavioural needs (SEMH) is highly desirable.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • Right to work in the UK.
