Learning Support Assistant in Cambridge

My client, a respected educational institution in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full‑time Learning Support Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting a student with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the individualised attention and guidance necessary to thrive in their academic journey. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in working with children with special educational needs, coupled with a genuine passion for making a positive impact on their lives.

As a Learning Support Assistant in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, you will work closely with the student, teachers, and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that caters to the student’s unique requirements.

• Provide one-to‑one support to the assigned student throughout the school day, adapting to their specific needs and learning style.
• Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning plans and strategies that promote the student’s academic, social, and emotional development.
• Encourage the student’s independence and self‑esteem through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
• Assist the student with daily tasks, such as organisation, communication, and social interactions.
• Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress, achievements, and any concerns, and regularly communicate with relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs.

Commute to Cambridge, Cambridgeshire full time.

• Proven experience working with children with special educational needs in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students with diverse needs.
• Proficiency in using assistive technology and educational resources.

• Relevant qualifications in education, special needs support, or a related field.

Our client offers a competitive salary range of £14.00 to £18.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
