I am a single mum to three autistic non-speaking children with high support needs and challenging behaviours. I require three 1:1 support workers to allow me some respite every week. The children are 8, 7 and 4. All three children currently receive funding for 4 hours per week each. My 7-year-old also receives 12 hours during school holidays.

Previous PAs have worked the 4 hours on a Sunday and then during school holidays they have done 2 weekdays plus the Sunday for consistency and routine. I would ideally like all three PAs to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support for three children (ages 8, 7, and 4) to enable respite for the parent.
  • Maintain consistency and routine across shifts.
  • Coordinate with the family on scheduling and daily needs as described (Sunday 4 hours; school holiday coverage of 2 weekdays plus Sunday for the 7-year-old as applicable).
Funding and Schedule:
  • All three children currently receive funding for 4 hours per week each.
  • The 7-year-old also receives 12 hours during school holidays.
  • Three 1:1 support workers are required; ideally start as soon as possible.
