How to prepare for a job interview at senploy

✨Know Your SEMH Stuff

Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Understand the challenges these young people face and be ready to discuss strategies you've used in the past to support them. This shows you're not just interested in the role but genuinely care about making a difference.

✨Showcase Your Team Spirit

Since the role involves working closely with teachers and other staff, highlight your teamwork skills. Prepare examples of how you've collaborated with others in previous roles to create a supportive environment for students. This will demonstrate that you can fit into their outstanding culture.

Expect questions that ask how you'd handle specific situations with pupils who have SEMH needs. Think of real-life scenarios where you've successfully managed challenging behaviour or helped a student engage with their learning. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers.

✨Bring Your Resilience to the Forefront

The school is looking for someone with a resilient and proactive nature. Be prepared to discuss times when you've faced challenges in your work and how you overcame them. This will show that you can handle the ups and downs of working in an Alternative Provision setting.
