Overview

We are a specialist provision in Redbridge supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges. Our setting provides a structured, nurturing, and restorative environment where pupils are supported to re-engage with learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships. We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join our experienced and passionate team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who need guidance, consistency, and care.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils in managing their behaviour and emotions throughout the school day.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
  • Supporting teaching and learning in the classroom and during unstructured times.
  • Implementing behaviour support plans and restorative approaches.
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to promote engagement and wellbeing.
  • Acting as a role model and mentor to help pupils develop self-regulation, resilience, and social skills.

What We\\\’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (essential).
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting behaviour.
  • Strong communication, de-escalation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-energy environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
