We are on the lookout for enthusiastic, supportive Tutors to work with Year 11 learners preparing for GCSEs or Functional Skills. If you are upbeat, committed, and great at building confidence, this role could be your perfect fit.
Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 or small-group sessions in GCSE or Functional Skills Maths/English
- Break learning down into fun, achievable steps
- Prepare engaging, personalised lessons
- Track progress and celebrate improvements
- Support learners who need an extra confidence boost
- Record attendance and session notes
- Help students feel capable, prepared, and exam-ready
About you
- Confident teaching Maths and/or English up to GCSE level
- Experienced in UK education (minimum 1 year)
- Friendly, patient, and able to build trust quickly
- Creative in your teaching style
- Calm, reliable, and adaptable
- Experience with SEN/SEMH is a bonus - not a dealbreaker
- Based in DT8 - Beaminster and nearby villages
- Up to 15 hours per week (flexible, mostly daytime)
- Opportunities for additional learners available
- £25-£30 per hour, depending on experience
