About the role

Our client in Lyndhurst is offering an exciting opportunity to lead a small, specialist provision supporting pupils with Autism in a calm, nurturing environment. This is more than just a teaching role - it’s a chance to shape a bespoke learning space where every pupil is seen, supported, and celebrated.

This newly developed provision caters for up to six pupils who benefit from a quieter, lower-stimulation setting. Pupils have a broad range of abilities and interests, and receive tailored support through:

  • One-to-one sessions in dedicated classrooms
  • Small group tutor time and collaborative learning
  • Weekly enrichment activities to build confidence and curiosity
  • A strong focus on emotional wellbeing, supported by Thrive principles

Pupils also access lessons on the main school site, creating a flexible and balanced learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

As Lead Teacher, you will be at the heart of the provision, shaping learning and leading a team. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Designing and delivering bespoke learning plans
  • Leading and mentoring a team of committed Learning Support Assistants
  • Overseeing assessment, progress tracking, and IEPs
  • Building strong relationships with families and professionals
  • Championing emotional wellbeing and inclusive practice
  • Collaborating with the SENDCo and wider school team
  • Shaping the timetable and learning journey to suit each pupil's needs

You may also have opportunities to teach across the wider school depending on your skills and interests.

Salary: MPS + SEN Allowance

Requirements

We welcome applications from teachers across primary and secondary backgrounds, with or without prior SEN experience. Most importantly, you will have:

  • A passion for inclusive education
  • Commitment to personalised learning
  • The ability to lead with empathy, creativity, and purpose

Additional Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Recent safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
  • References covering the last 24 months
