We are looking for an ADHD Teaching Assistant to join one our biggest SEN schools in South London. You will be delivering the best support to students aged 11-16. We would require you to have strong Autism experience as most of the students have mild SEN and are working at a high level. The key aspect of this role is cohering to the behaviour de-escalation methods and promoting positive reinforcement strategies.
The ideal candidate:
– Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
– Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
– Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
– Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
Requirement:
– Must have strong SEN Experience
– Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate on the update service (Not mandatory as we can provide one)
– Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours
– Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
