We are working with a structured secondary school in Hackney looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant who can handle challenge without escalating situations. The school needs someone who can stay calm when pupils test boundaries. You will be supporting pupils who need clear boundaries, calm adults and consistent routines. The school is looking for someone who can build trust, manage behaviour professionally and work alongside experienced staff.
Role responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with SEMH, behaviour needs and additional learning needs
- Helping pupils stay regulated and engaged in learning
- Working with teachers, pastoral staff and behaviour leads
- Long-term, consistent work rather than random day-to-day cover
Qualifications
- A calm, firm and reliable personality
- Experience in schools, youth work, mentoring, PRU/AP or behaviour support
- Someone who can de-escalate, not inflame situations
- Thick skin, patience and a professional mindset
Pay: £95 - £115 per day
