Overview
We are working with a structured alternative provision in Kilburn, Brent, seeking a Behaviour Mentor who can manage challenge without escalating situations. This permanent role starts in September 2026 and involves supporting pupils who respond to clear boundaries, calm adults, and consistent routines.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, behaviour needs, and additional learning needs.
- Help pupils stay regulated and engaged in learning.
- Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff and behaviour leads.
- Provide long-term, consistent support rather than short-term, day-to-day cover.
What they are looking for
- A calm, firm and reliable personality.
- Experience in schools, youth work, mentoring, PRU/AP or behaviour support.
- Ability to de-escalate situations effectively.
- Thick skin, patience and a professional mindset.
