We are looking for a Liferay Platform Engineer to join our team on a freelance basis, operating in a hybrid working model (2 days on-site in Glasgow, 3 days remote per week). This is a hands-on platform engineering and operations role (not development), focused on ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous evolution of the Liferay platform.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Configure, maintain, and operate the Liferay platform and supporting environments.
  • Manage and oversee deployments, patches, and version upgrades.
  • Monitor performance, respond to incidents, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Integrate with authentication systems, APIs, and monitoring tools.
  • Uphold security and operational compliance.
  • Work closely with development teams to support platform changes and rollouts.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in Liferay platform engineering (ideally Liferay DXP).
  • Solid background in Java-based platforms and API integrations.
  • Comfortable with Linux system administration, application servers, and databases.
  • Experienced with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern monitoring tools.
  • Strong problem-solver with a proactive mindset.
  • Fluent in English and highly collaborative.
