SEMH Teaching Assistant – Secondary School – Newham – Immediate Start
Senovo is recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEN school in Newham. You will support secondary-aged pupils who benefit from calm adults, clear expectations and consistent encouragement.
The Role
- Support pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs in lessons and structured activities.
- Use positive, low-arousal approaches to promote regulation and engagement.
- Build constructive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Work with teachers, therapists and pastoral colleagues.
About You
- Relevant experience in SEN schools, youth work, mentoring or behaviour support.
- Calm under pressure with strong de-escalation skills.
- Patient, reliable and committed to safeguarding.
- QTS is not required for this support role.
