Qualifications & Responsibilities:
- Minimum of 2+ years SEN childcare experience
- Kind, compassionate, and patient
- Experienced in caring for children with high support needs
- Confident providing hands-on personal care, including feeding, hygiene and mobility support
- Physically fit
- Reliable, responsible, and consistent
- Flexible and adaptable
- Understanding or willingness to learn sensory-based approaches, structured routines, and alternative communication methods
- Able to contribute to a relaxed, supportive household environment and work collaboratively with the family
- Provide full support to B5 throughout the day, ensuring his safety, comfort, and wellbeing at all times
- Assist with all aspects of personal care, feeding, and physical support
- Follow consistent daily routines to help B5 feel secure and settled
- Use approaches from his specialist school, including sensory-based support, structured routines, and play-based interaction
- Support communication through visual cues and/or alternative communication methods
- Engage with B5 in a meaningful way that assumes competence and encourages connection
- Spend quality time building a trusting relationship through interaction and shared activities
- Facilitate appropriate, enjoyable activities based on B5’s needs and responses
- Create a calm, nurturing, and positive environment where B5 feels happy and content
- Work in a hands-on, proactive, and compassionate manner at all times
- Take initiative in B5’s care to support the family
