- Experience supporting non-verbal Autistic children — confident, patient and genuinely at ease.
- Understanding of non-verbal and alternative communication — basic Makaton knowledge essential
- Understanding of sensory processing differences — able to read and respond to sensory cues confidently.
- Familiar with or willing to learn positive behaviour support and low-demand approaches.
- Ability to follow established routines consistently — routine is central to B7's sense of security.
- Excellent observational skills — tuned in to non-verbal cues and changes in B7's regulation.
- Creative and resourceful in planning engaging, screen-free activities suited to B7's interests and energy levels.
- Strong safeguarding awareness and ability to work independently with initiative
