Sennen Education are recruiting for a School Sports Mentor on behalf of a fantastic school. The school are looking for an active individual to support a child with challenging behaviour within the classroom during whole class sessions and one to one sessions. The role will entail using sports to support the child engaging with education. The successful Mentor will work with the Class Teacher and SENCo to undertake work, care and support programmes to facilitate learning of students. As a sports mentor, you will have a positive mind-set and will have strong engagement abilities to support the development of the children. An ideal candidate will need to be able to build rapport with the children.
Job Summary
- Working under the guidance of teaching/senior staff, to provide support for pupils in class or one to one.
- Assisting the teacher in the management/preparation of resources.
- To be resilient and able to take regular responsibility for agreed learning.
- An ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
