Sennen Education is working with a Specialist School currently recruiting an SEND LSA / SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role involves working in a mixed ability class with children who have ASD, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. The position is full‑time, 5 days per week, for the entirety of the academic year and is expected to start as soon as possible. Reliability, commitment, punctuality and a warm, welcoming attitude are essential as staff may transition to permanent roles.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in a mixed ability classroom, including support for students with complex learning difficulties, communication and language difficulties, challenging behaviours, acute medical needs, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex medical requirements.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver inclusive education and participate in school training.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 3 months experience working with children.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Engaging, positive and reliable.
- All candidates required to obtain a current, enhanced DBS Disclosure. Candidates not subscribed to the DBS Update Service may need to submit a new DBS application during registration.
