Sennen Education are working with a Specialist School who is currently recruiting for an SEND LSA / SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. You will be working in a mixed ability class and with children who have ASD, Learning Difficulties and challenging behaviour. The position is for the entirety of the academic year and will be full time, 5 days per week with a view to start asap.
Due to the nature of the role, you must be reliable, committed, punctual and reliable. The school is very warm and welcoming and are always looking for staff members to become permanent members of the team. The school are looking to recruit someone who has experience working with children who have complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties, associated communication and language difficulties and challenging behaviours. Many of the students also have acute medical needs. The school also supports students with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex medical needs.
To be considered for this role you must have the following:
- Minimum 3 months experience working with children
- Right to work in the UK
- Engaging, positive and reliable
Safeguarding children is at the heart of what we do and we undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current, enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. We offer all our registered candidates free safeguarding and prevent duty training.
