A warehouse operative plays a key role in efficient handling, storage, and movement of goods. Ensures that all warehouse processes are carried out accurately, safely and in line with company standards, contributing to smooth daily operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork and are handled with care.
- Picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatching accurately and efficiently.
- Accurately receiving, checking and booking in deliveries and stock according to established procedures.
- Conducting stocktakes based on the warehouse guidelines and in cooperation with team members and supporting subsequent audits.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Monitoring and reporting on damages, errors or shortages and taking action.
- Processing returned goods by following RMA (Return Material Authorization) procedures.
- Handling goods and operating equipment safely according to health and safety procedures.
- Maintain an organised workspace to enable efficient working practices.
Key Skills and experience:
- Secondary School Education or Equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and hands-on warehouse environment.
- Physically fit for manual handling, lifting, and standing for long periods.
- Good communication skills, positive attitude and team focused.
- Self-motivated and reliable.
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
- Forklift licence (Counterbalance/Reach Truck) is a plus, but not essential.
