Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Senior Bird Bellows was established in 1975 as a family run operation serving the petro-chemical and gas industries. Since then, we have evolved to become one of the industry leaders in the design, development and manufacture of pressure duct systems, flexible joints and insulation for highly regulated industries. We have established customers in aerospace (both civil and military), as well as in the nuclear, oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

The role is responsible for developing and maintaining effective supplier quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and aerospace standards. Key responsibilities include managing supplier approvals, audits, and performance metrics; leading investigations and resolution of supplier quality issues; and supporting APQP, PPAP, and First Article Inspection activities. The position works closely with procurement, engineering, and value stream teams to qualify new suppliers, drive continuous improvement, and ensure ongoing compliance with ISO9001/AS9100 through robust corrective action and performance management.

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality professional with 3–5 years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace. The role requires strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA and SPC, along with experience in supplier audits, supplier development and performance improvement. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to build effective supplier relationships. A recognised qualification in Engineering or Quality Assurance and experience with ISO9000/AS9100 are essential, with Lead Auditor certification and AS9100/Part 21 Subpart G knowledge desirable.

We offer a supportive and rewarding work environment that values your wellbeing and work-life balance. Enjoy the benefits of a 4-day working week, giving you more time for what matters most. We also provide an excellent pension scheme, life assurance, and access to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme.
