Job Description
Reporting to: Fabrication Team Leader
Direct Reports: None
Purpose of Role: Supporting and producing the production of components to ensure they conform to customer requirements and company procedures. Welding and Fabrication of aerospace sheet metal components using jigs, fixtures and manual methods of production including TIG welding.
Key Responsibilities:
- The manufacture of ducts, vanes, details and other sheet metal components including TIG welding.
- Accurately interpret and complete production route cards (Technical Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Data Sheets).
- Maintain good housekeeping standards of the work area implementing Safety + 5 S methods (Sort, Set, Standardise, Shine, Sustain).
- Achieve company work & quality standards by applying your skills and knowledge and taking pride in your work.
- Participate in team-based activities to meet productivity and on time delivery targets.
- Work in line with the Company Values (Safety, Accountability, Respect & Trust, Integrity, Excellence, Customer Focus) and demonstrate the associated behaviours in your daily work.
- Consistently follow Health, Safety & Environmental procedures, including wearing the required personal protective equipment provided.
- Complete training as required and apply the learning in performing operations to demonstrate competence.
- Perform all reasonable requests made by management.
Key Requirements:
- Able to read and interpret technical documentation, visual aids and drawings.
- Able to work accurately and in a timely manner using own initiative with limited supervision.
- Proven experience in TIG welding.
- Team Player and willing to learn.
- Flexible in working hours to undertake variable shift patterns and support business needs by working overtime when required.
- Willing to engage in Continuous Improvement projects.
- Willing to cover in other areas when required.
- Punctual.
- Experience of TIG welding with Titanium & Inconel would be beneficial.
- Previous aerospace TIG Welding role would be an advantage.
