Reporting to: Team Leader
Purpose of Role: Supporting the production of components within the Fabrications work stream by operating hydraulic presses, hand adjusting various products, polishing, and cleaning of products using air tools, overseeing the heat treatment process and conducting a final inspection of the products to ensure they conform to customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret and complete production route cards (Technical Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Data Sheets).
- Manufacture aerospace components which will involve forming sheet metal parts and finishing to drawing requirements using various machines and techniques.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards of the work area implementing Safety + 5 S methods (Sort, Set, Standardise, Shine, Sustain).
- Achieve company work & quality standards by applying your skills and knowledge and taking pride in your work.
- Participate in team-based activities to meet productivity and on time delivery targets.
- Work in line with the Company Values (Safety, Accountability, Respect & Trust, Integrity, Excellence, Customer Focus) and demonstrate the associated behaviours in your daily work.
- Consistently follow Health, Safety & Environmental procedures, including wearing the required personal protective equipment provided.
- Complete training as required and apply the learning in performing operations to demonstrate competence.
- Perform all reasonable requests made by management.
Key Requirements:
- Able to read and interpret technical documentation, visual aids and data sheets.
- Sheet-metal work experience. (Not essential but preferred)
- Able to use various measuring equipment i.e. digital verniers, jigs and fixtures.
- Able to work accurately and in a timely manner using own initiative with limited supervision.
- Team Player and willing to learn.
- Flexible in working hours to undertake variable shift patterns and support business needs by working overtime when required.
- Willing to engage in Continuous Improvement projects.
- Punctual.
