Welcome to Heritage Lounge!

Are you an experienced hospitality manager with a passion for people, sales, and creating exceptional guest experiences?

Heritage Lounge is a premium coffee lounge and social hub designed exclusively for the over-50s community.

More than just a café, we're creating a welcoming space where guests can enjoy great coffee, delicious food, cocktails, social events, wellbeing activities, and meaningful connections.

We're looking for a confident, commercially driven, and hands-on Lounge Manager to oversee daily operations, lead our team, grow memberships, increase sales, and help establish Heritage Lounge as a thriving community destination.

What you'll be doing

Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the lounge, including opening and closing procedures.

Manage, motivate, and support front-of-house staff, including rotas, performance, and daily responsibilities.

Take responsibility for operational budgets, stock control, ordering, and cost management.

Ensure all cleaning schedules, toilet checks, food hygiene records, and health and safety requirements are completed.

Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer service.

Provide hands-on support when required, including preparing barista-style coffees, cocktails, and serving hot and cold food.

Sales, Memberships & Business Growth

Take ownership of lounge sales performance, revenue targets, and membership growth.

Proactively promote memberships, events, food and beverage offerings, and lounge services.

Develop strategies to attract new guests, increase footfall, and encourage repeat visits.

Build relationships with local businesses, community groups, and organisations.

Support local marketing initiatives, including leaflet distribution, promotions, and community engagement.

Monitor sales, memberships, event attendance, and overall lounge performance.

Events & Guest Experience

Plan, coordinate, and promote an engaging programme of activities and events.

Organise experiences such as quiz nights, cinema afternoons, yoga, knitting groups, coffee mornings, and themed events.

Manage event budgets, bookings, staffing, and preparation.

Encourage guest participation and promote upcoming events to existing and potential members.

Build positive relationships with guests, ensuring our over-50s community feels welcome, valued, and included.

Adapt activities where appropriate to accommodate different interests, mobility levels, and abilities.

What we're looking for

Proven hospitality management experience, ideally within a café, restaurant, bar, hotel, or leisure environment.

Strong sales experience, with a track record of increasing revenue, customer engagement, or memberships.

Experience managing staff, rotas, operational budgets, and daily business performance.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, particularly when engaging with older adults.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

A proactive, commercially minded approach with a genuine passion for hospitality.

Confidence supporting food and beverage service, including preparing coffees and cocktails when required.

A professional, friendly, and approachable management style.

Willing to obtain a DBS certificate or on the update service.

Experience managing memberships or subscription-based services.

Events planning and community engagement experience.

Food Hygiene Level 2 or above.

Experience working within an over-50s or community-focused environment.

This is more than a traditional hospitality management role.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of a unique lounge concept, lead a team, drive business growth, and create memorable experiences for our over-50s community.

We're looking for someone who can combine excellent hospitality standards with strong commercial awareness and a genuine passion for people.

Can you lead a team, manage a successful lounge, grow memberships, increase sales, and create an atmosphere that keeps guests coming back?
