Senior Bird Bellows is based in Congleton, Cheshire. Founded in 1975 as a family‐run operation, we serve the petro‐chemical and gas industries and have grown into a leader in designing, developing and manufacturing pressure duct systems, flexible joints and insulation for highly regulated sectors. Our customers span aerospace (civil and military) as well as nuclear, oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will develop and maintain effective supplier quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and aerospace standards. Key responsibilities include managing supplier approvals, audits and performance metrics; leading investigations and resolution of supplier quality issues; and supporting APQP, PPAP and First Article Inspection activities. The role works closely with procurement, engineering and value‐stream teams to qualify new suppliers, drive continuous improvement and maintain ISO 9001/AS 9100 compliance through corrective action and performance management.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, supplier audits, supplier development and performance improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‐solving and communication skills; ability to build effective supplier relationships.
  • Recognised qualification in Engineering or Quality Assurance.
  • Experience with ISO 9000/AS 9100; Lead Auditor certification and AS 9100/Part 21 Subpart G knowledge desirable.
