We’re looking for an enthusiastic Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Officer to join our team in Congleton. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, grow professionally, and make a real difference supporting our ambition of zero harm.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an HSE Officer, you’ll report to the HSE Manager and work alongside experienced Health, Safety & Environmental professionals in a supportive and dynamic environment. You’ll help to identify and manage risks, support safety and sustainability initiatives, and help foster a culture of wellbeing across the workplace. You will be helping to ensure that all our compliance obligations are met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification - Confident in identifying workplace hazards and supporting robust risk control measures.
- Incident Investigation - Able to support structured investigations, identify root causes, and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Regulatory Compliance Knowledge - Working knowledge of UK HSE and environmental legislation within a manufacturing environment.
- Training & Engagement - Comfortable delivering safety briefings and training that promotes safe behaviours across diverse teams.
- Data Analysis & Reporting - Competent in analysing safety data, identifying trends, and producing clear, professional reports.
- Stakeholder Communication - Able to influence and collaborate with managers, supervisors, and shop-floor teams.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset - Proactive in identifying improvement opportunities and contributing to a zero-harm culture.

Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- 3-5 year’s experience working in a health, safety, and environmental role in the manufacturing sector.
- NEBOSH Certificate or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative approach with proven ability to work well in a team.
- High levels of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organisational skills.
