About the Role
Are you an Embedded Software Engineer with a passion for automotive innovation? What You’ll Do
- Develop embedded systems for a range of automotive applications, including:
- Writing micro‑controller firmware to power bespoke hardware functionality (e.g., sensors, power management).
- Deploying MCU manufacturer HAL or RTOS to accelerate development cycles.
- Implementing communication networks from low‑level protocols to higher‑level systems.
- Developing secure firmware update mechanisms (Over‑The‑Air, OTA).
- Collaborating with hardware engineers to ensure seamless hardware‑software integration.
- Contributing to system architecture and design choices.
You’ll report to the Head of Electronics while working closely across the engineering team.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Expertise in C/C++ firmware development.
- Proven experience with microcontrollers.
- Knowledge of communication protocols.
- Experience debugging with trace debuggers and logic analysers.
- Understanding of electronics and ability to collaborate with hardware engineers.
- Ability to structure complex systems and verify functionality.
- Exposure to safety‑critical software development (i.e., ISO 26262). If from outside an automotive sector, knowledge of functional safety applicable to your industry.
Desirable
- Exposure to automotive software processes.
- Familiarity with Embedded Linux.
- Experience with Jira, GitLab, or other project management tools.
- Writing automated tests and performing code reviews.
