Overview

A School in Essex is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to support the upkeep and safety of the school premises. You\’ll work as part of the wider site team to maintain a clean, secure, and well-functioning school environment. This role is part-time, permanent (37 hours/week, afternoons), and starts immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Unlocking and locking the site for afternoon activities
  • Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Health & safety checks including fire alarm testing
  • Ensuring safe access during adverse weather (e.g., gritting)
  • Coordinating with contractors for onsite work
  • Supporting evening school functions or lettings where needed
  • Maintaining stock of supplies and equipment
