Overview
A School in Essex is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to support the upkeep and safety of the school premises. You\βll work as part of the wider site team to maintain a clean, secure, and well-functioning school environment. This role is part-time, permanent (37 hours/week, afternoons), and starts immediately.
Responsibilities
- Unlocking and locking the site for afternoon activities
- Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Health & safety checks including fire alarm testing
- Ensuring safe access during adverse weather (e.g., gritting)
- Coordinating with contractors for onsite work
- Supporting evening school functions or lettings where needed
- Maintaining stock of supplies and equipment
