We are currently recruiting reliable and proactive SEND Teaching Assistants to support specialist and mainstream schools across Slough. This role is ideal for candidates with experience supporting children or young adults with special educational needs who are looking to build strong relationships with local schools and progress into long-term positions. Many of our schools use this pathway to identify outstanding staff, meaning successful SEND Teaching Assistants are often offered ongoing, long-term placements after completing a number of successful shifts.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant in Slough, you will provide day-to-day sickness and absence cover across local schools, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Assisting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, communication needs, and learning difficulties
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom
- Supporting emotional regulation and social development
- Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to maintain a positive learning environment
