Are you a qualified SEND Teacher who is passionate about helping children with special educational needs feel safe, supported, and ready to learn? SENDhelp is looking for a dedicated teacher to join a welcoming specialist education setting in Leatherhead. This role would suit someone with QTS, strong SEN experience, and the ability to create engaging lessons that meet pupils where they are academically, socially, and emotionally. This SEND Teacher role is open to both primary and secondary trained teachers, provided you have experience teaching children with SEN and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan and deliver adapted lessons that support a range of learning needs
- Teach pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and communication difficulties
- Use EHCPs, individual targets, and assessment information to guide learning
- Build a calm, consistent, and positive classroom environment
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and families
- Support pupils in Leatherhead to develop confidence, independence, and emotional regulation
- Use creative approaches to help pupils engage with learning at their own pace
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status, QTS
- Experience teaching children with special educational needs
- Primary or secondary teaching experience
- A child and adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Confidence adapting lessons for different abilities and learning styles
- A genuine passion for supporting SEN pupils in Leatherhead
