About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND setting in Hillingdon, supporting young people aged 16‑25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as they develop confidence, independence, and employability skills. As a Learning Support Assistant in Hillingdon, you will work closely with learners with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), communication needs, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. The role offers the opportunity to support learners across a range of vocational and employability pathways, including horticulture, catering, functional skills, and personal development programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to learners with SEND.
- Assist learners in developing independence, confidence, communication, and social skills.
- Support learners during vocational activities, enrichment sessions, and community-based learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, SEN professionals, and families to deliver personalised support.
- Help implement strategies outlined within EHCPs and individual learning plans.
- Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and emotional regulation.
- Encourage learners to develop employability skills and prepare for successful transitions into adulthood.
- Support learners to access work experience opportunities and community activities where appropriate.
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

The Learning Support Assistant position is based in Hillingdon, a convenient location close to Heathrow Airport. The site offers free on-site parking and is easily accessible for drivers and public transport users, with a dedicated shuttle bus service available for staff.
