As a Special Needs Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have special educational needs, supporting them academically, socially, and emotionally. You may be working one-to-one or in small groups across SEN and Mainstream school settings in Watford.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEN such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and complex needs
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support in and out of the classroom
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively
  • Supporting independence, confidence, and social development

This is a specialist SEND recruitment role. Our number one priority is child safety and welfare. Qualifications

  • Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or SEN TA experience
  • Experience supporting work with children or young people with additional needs
  • Care work (residential, supported living, or domiciliary care)
  • Experience working with children in any capacity (schools, nurseries, youth work, clubs, mentoring, or coaching)
  • Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour or complex needs
  • Formal school experience is not essential — SENDHelp values transferable skills, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting children
