SENDHelp is working with a range of welcoming and inclusive schools across Hertfordshire who are seeking dedicated Qualified Teachers (QTS) to inspire, engage and support pupils of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Whether you're an experienced teacher, an Early Career Teacher (ECT), or looking to transition from another educational setting, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Qualified Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons that enable every pupil to reach their full potential.

You'll work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, school leaders and external professionals to create positive learning environments where all children feel supported, challenged and valued.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and other additional needs.
  • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, using this information to inform future planning.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs and wider school staff to deliver effective interventions.
  • Promote safeguarding, inclusion and the welfare of all pupils at all times.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
  • Strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • A positive, resilient and flexible approach.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Relevant teaching qualification.
  • Recent classroom teaching experience.
  • Desirable: Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and personalised learning.
  • Training in safeguarding, behaviour management, Autism, ADHD or SEMH.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
