SENDhelp is seeking a passionate and resilient SEND Teacher to join a supportive specialist education setting in Dorking. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher with QTS and experience teaching children with special educational needs.
Responsibilities
- Support children with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and communication difficulties.
- Use EHCPs and individual learning plans to support pupil progress.
- Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, families, and wider school staff.
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation.
- Encourage independence, confidence, communication, and personal development.
- Help pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching children with special educational needs (primary or secondary).
- A child and adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies.
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- A genuine passion for supporting SEN learners in Dorking.
