We are seeking dedicated, resilient, and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our specialist SEND school, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD, many of whom present with behavioural needs, across Warrington. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people and who thrives in a structured, supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, both in and out of the classroom
- Assist with the delivery of personalised learning programmes and behaviour support plans
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
- Support pupils with personal, social, and emotional development
- Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with ASD and ADHD, ideally within a SEND or specialist setting
- Experience supporting pupils with behavioural needs
- A Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Team Teach training (essential or willingness to undertake training)
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour management
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
