We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to lead a small class of approximately 8 students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will design and implement individualised education plans (EPs), foster a supportive learning environment, and equip students with the skills they need to thrive academically, socially, and in their future endeavours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans tailored to students’ strengths, needs, and goals.
- Deliver instruction in functional academics, social-emotional skills, and life skills using research-based practices.
- Collaborate with instructional assistants and specialists, e.g., occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, behaviour therapists.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Facilitate school-to-community transition planning for students.
- Integrate visual aids, hands-on activities, and explicit teaching methods to enhance learning.
- Foster opportunities for students to integrate into mainstream classes where appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid teaching certification/license/equivalency with 3+ years teaching experience.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including cognitive and executive functioning challenges.
- Strong understanding of IEP development, functional academics, and transition planning.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
- Arabic language is desirable.
