Job description:

We are looking for a dedicated, caring, and resilientSEND Teaching Assistantto join our team and support pupils with additional needs in a nurturing primary/secondary setting.

This is a rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will be supporting children and young people with a range of SEND needs to access learning, develop independence, and feel safe, valued, and understood in school.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about inclusion, enjoys building positive relationships, and is committed to helping every learner achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Teaching and Learning
  • Work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with SEND
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Support pupils to access the curriculum and stay engaged in learning

Support Behaviour and Wellbeing

  • Promote positive behaviour using calm, consistent approaches
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

Support Pupil Development

  • Assist pupils in developing communication, social, and life skills
  • Support pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and physical disabilities
  • Encourage independence and confidence in learning
  • Support personal care where required

Work as Part of a Team

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals
  • Contribute to EHCP targets and support plans
  • Record and report pupil progress where required
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions
