Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and creative Middle School Art Teacher to inspire and nurture students’ artistic talents. In this role, you will provide engaging and inclusive art instruction, encouraging students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills while supporting diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging art lessons aligned with the American curriculum, emphasizing creativity, technical skills, and self-expression.
- Foster a love for art by introducing students to a variety of techniques, mediums, and art history concepts.
- Adapt instruction to support students with diverse learning needs, providing individualized strategies and modifications as needed.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and
inspired. - Develop and evaluate students’ artistic skills and creativity through ongoing assessment and feedback.
- Organise art displays, exhibitions, or projects that showcase student work within the school and the community.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and school events.
- Stay current with best practices in art education and participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field required).
- Valid teaching certification/license/equivalency with 3+ years teaching.
- Strong ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Proficiency in various art techniques and mediums eg., drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for empowering students with diverse learning needs and fostering their creativity.
