We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a primary school setting. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusion and committed to helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally. You will play a key role in supporting pupils with SEND, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Teaching and Learning
- Work closely with the class teacher to support pupils with SEND
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
- Adapt learning activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum
- Use a range of strategies to engage and motivate learners
- Help pupils develop social, emotional, and communication skills
- Support behaviour management using positive and consistent approaches
- Encourage independence and confidence in learning
- Assist with personal care where required
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals
- Contribute to EHCP targets and support plans
- Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
This role may include supporting pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
