We are looking for a passionate Change Tutor to inspire, motivate, and empower young people to overcome barriers and succeed. In this role, you’ll go beyond teaching; you’ll act as a role model, mentor, and guide, supporting learners to develop the skills, resilience, and confidence needed for education, employment, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire Through Teaching
  • Deliver an engaging and supportive curriculum tailored to individual needs
  • Plan and deliver creative, inclusive lessons
  • Motivate and support learners, including during exams
  • Maintain high teaching standards
  • You may also occasionally support learners with transport where required.
  • Drive Progress Through Data
    • Monitor and track learner progress and engagement
    • Use data to identify gaps and plan interventions
    • Maintain accurate records, attendance, and assessments
    • Support learner transitions and report on outcomes
  • Collaborate to Build Exceptional Learning
    • Work closely with colleagues to support learner success
    • Contribute to inclusive teaching practices
    • Participate in CPD, team meetings, and performance reviews
    • Support a positive and collaborative team culture

    Additional Information

    This role may include other duties in line with the level of responsibility. Priorities will be reviewed through regular performance management. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. All successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.

    Person Specification

    Essential:

    • GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in Maths and English
    • Experience supporting post-16 learners, particularly those with SEND
    • Strong understanding of SEND, alternative provision, and inclusive education
    • Experience tracking progress and analysing outcomes
    • Ability to build strong relationships and manage challenging situations calmly
    • Organised, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement

    Desirable:

    • Teaching qualification (Level 5 or above)
    • Youth Work, Safeguarding, or IAG qualifications
    • Experience delivering PSD in post-16 settings
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (CPOMS desirable)
