About Our Partner School: Our esteemed partner school is preparing to open a brand-new independent school in August 2025, dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. With a capacity for 72 pupils, their mission is to create a high-quality learning space where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Headteacher to lead this exciting new venture.
Role Overview: As the founding Headteacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping and developing the school from inception to full operation. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in educational leadership, particularly in SEN and SEMH settings. Experience in setting up a new school, including curriculum design, recruitment, policy development, and regulatory compliance, will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- School Establishment & Strategic Leadership: Lead the development of the school, overseeing its launch and ensuring a successful and sustainable setup.
- Educational Leadership: Drive the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- SEN and SEMH Expertise: Implement effective strategies to support students with diverse learning needs and behavioural challenges.
- Recruitment & Team Building: Assemble and lead a passionate and skilled team of educators and support staff.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure the school meets all regulatory requirements, including Ofsted and safeguarding standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven Headteacher Experience: Previous experience as a Headteacher, with a successful track record in educational leadership.
- SEN and SEMH Focus: Extensive experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.
- New School Setup: Experience in establishing or significantly developing a school, including operational planning, curriculum development, and compliance processes.
- Independent School Understanding: Familiarity with the dynamics of independent schools and a hands-on approach to school management.
