Assistant Headteacher – Behaviour Lead

Working alongside the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in leading behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion across the school, ensuring pupils receive the highest level of support while empowering staff to deliver outstanding practice.
The Role
- Lead the school's behaviour strategy and culture.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement across the school.
- Support pupils with complex SEND and SEMH needs.
- Coach, mentor and develop staff in behaviour management and trauma-informed practice.
- Monitor behaviour data and identify areas for improvement.
- Work collaboratively with families, external agencies and Local Authorities.
- Contribute to whole-school improvement planning.
- Support safeguarding, attendance and inclusion initiatives.
- Deputise for members of the Senior Leadership Team where appropriate.
- Help create a safe, nurturing environment where every child can succeed.
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Significant leadership experience within education.
- Experience working within an SEN or specialist setting.
- A proven track record of improving behaviour, attendance or inclusion.
- Strong knowledge of SEND, SEMH and trauma-informed approaches.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- The ability to motivate, inspire and develop others.
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.

Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous Senior Leadership experience.
- Experience within SEN and/or SEMH education.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
