NURTURE MENTOR – WIGAN

We are currently recruiting for a Nurture Mentor to join our growing team in Wigan .
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced pastoral or SEND professional who has strong behaviour experience and may be considering a future career in teaching .
About the role
As a Nurture Mentor, you will work closely with a young person, providing pastoral, behavioural and educational support within a nurturing environment.
You'll build a positive relationship with the young person, help them overcome barriers to learning and support them to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
The role will involve:
1:1 mentoring and pastoral support
Supporting positive behaviour and engagement
Helping young people access learning
Building strong, trusting relationships
Supporting SEND needs and individual learning strategies
Developing communication, confidence and emotional regulation
Working alongside teachers, families and other professionals
Supporting and celebrating individual progress
Who are we looking for?
You MUST have:
A degree-level qualification
Experience working with children or young people with SEND
Strong experience supporting behaviour and pastoral needs
A calm, patient and consistent approach
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
You may be a:
Graduate looking to move into teaching
Aspiring Teacher
SEND Support Worker
Psychology graduate
Pastoral Mentor
Behaviour Mentor
Experienced Teaching Assistant
