Are you a passionate Primary Teacher with experience supporting children with autism and complex SEND ?
SEND Inclusion Support is working with one of our fantastic partner schools in Gloucester to recruit a dedicated teacher to join their friendly, welcoming and supportive staff team on a full-time, ongoing basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who wants to work in a specialist environment where relationships really matter and where you can make a genuine difference to children's education, communication, confidence and independence.
About the role
You will be working with primary-aged children with a range of additional needs, including autism and complex learning needs .
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons while adapting your approach around the individual needs of the children in your class.
The role will involve:

Teaching a primary-aged class within a specialist SEND setting

Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
-
Adapting learning to meet individual communication, sensory and developmental needs

Supporting children with autism and complex SEND
-
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team

Supporting communication, independence, confidence and personal development
-
Creating a calm, structured and positive learning environment

Working collaboratively with families and other professionals where appropriate
What we're looking for
We're looking for a teacher who is warm, patient, adaptable and genuinely passionate about specialist education .
You will ideally have:

QTS or recognised teaching qualification
-
Primary teaching experience
-
Experience working with children with SEND
-
Experience supporting autistic children and/or children with complex needs
-
A good understanding of differentiated and adaptive teaching
-
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
The ability to remain calm, consistent and positive
-
A child-centred approach and high expectations for every pupil
Specialist school experience is highly desirable, but we're also interested in experienced mainstream Primary Teachers who are looking to move into SEND.
