Are you a passionate Maths Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity where you can make a genuine difference to young people with SEND?

SEND Inclusion Support is working with one of our fantastic partner schools in Gloucester to recruit a dedicated Maths Teacher to join their friendly, supportive and welcoming staff team on a full-time, ongoing basis.

The school supports children and young people with autism and complex needs, and is looking for a teacher who can make Maths accessible, engaging and meaningful for pupils with a range of individual learning needs.

About the role

You will be responsible for delivering Maths across the school, adapting teaching and learning to meet the needs of pupils with autism and complex SEND.

The role will involve:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons

  • Adapting the curriculum to suit individual learning needs and abilities

  • Supporting pupils to develop confidence and independence in Maths

  • Breaking learning down into manageable and accessible steps

  • Using creative and practical approaches to engage pupils

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider specialist team

  • Supporting pupils with communication, sensory and emotional regulation needs

  • Tracking progress and adapting teaching accordingly

  • Contributing to a positive, calm and inclusive learning environment

What we're looking for

We're looking for a confident and enthusiastic Maths Teacher who is able to think creatively about how Maths can be taught to pupils who may not always engage with traditional approaches.

You'll ideally have:

  • QTS or a recognised teaching qualification

  • Strong Maths teaching experience

  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally autism and/or complex needs

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

  • The ability to differentiate and adapt teaching effectively

  • A patient, calm and consistent approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • A genuine commitment to helping every pupil achieve their potential

Specialist SEND experience would be highly desirable, but we're also keen to hear from experienced mainstream Maths Teachers who are interested in developing their SEND experience.

Why join this school?

You'll be joining an amazing and friendly staff team within a specialist setting where relationships, individual needs and pupil wellbeing are genuinely valued.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who wants to move away from a one-size-fits-all approach and really consider how each individual pupil learns best.

You'll be supported by an experienced team and have the opportunity to develop your specialist SEND practice while making a meaningful difference to pupils with autism and complex needs.

If you're an enthusiastic Maths Teacher looking for a full-time, ongoing position in Gloucester from after October half term, we'd love to hear from you.
