SEND Inclusion Support are looking for an experienced
Nurture Teacher
to support a young person in the
Stretford
area who requires a more flexible and individualised approach to education. This could be an excellent opportunity for a teacher with experience of
SEMH, anxiety, EBSA, autism or disengagement from education . Your role won't simply be to deliver lessons. It will be to understand the barriers, establish trust and create positive experiences of learning that can help a young person move forward. Your focus will be on:
Relationship
- creating trust and emotional safety. Engagement
- finding the interests and approaches that motivate the young person. Education
- delivering meaningful learning at the right level. Confidence
- helping the young person recognise what they can achieve. Progression
- working towards the next appropriate educational pathway. You'll have access to our
Nurture Curriculum , but you'll also have the professional freedom to adapt learning around the young person. We'd like to hear from teachers who have experience with:
SEMH
EBSA
Anxiety
Autism
SEND
Alternative provision
School avoidance
Re-engagement
1:1 specialist teaching
You should be comfortable working outside of a traditional classroom and able to build a strong professional relationship with a young person who may initially be reluctant to engage. You'll also have ongoing support from the SEND Inclusion Support team and attend our
termly Nurture Teacher Days
alongside other specialist teachers. If you're a teacher who believes that
