We are the information, advice and support service (SENDIAS) for children and young people with special educational needs and their families in Bristol, S Gloucestershire and N Somerset. Our Treasurer ensures financial viability and oversees financial records and procedures.

The challenges faced by our service users are increasing, and it is imperative that we have a sound footing in order to deliver our existing services and develop new ones.
What are we looking for?
- Someone to steer our finances confidently.
- Interest in charity finance and fundraising/income generation.
- Able to present financial information in an accessible way to support the Board in making informed decisions about resources.
- Able to analyse proposals and consider their financial consequences.
- Willing to make potentially unpopular recommendations to the Board.

What will you be doing?
We are looking for some experience of financial management, either in a paid role or as a volunteer, to help us strengthen our existing processes and planning. You do not need to have been a treasurer before – we provide induction, training and support. At SEND And You, the day-to-day finances of the organisation are managed by the HR, Facilities and Finance team, and the treasurer is not expected to carry out any operational financial functions. We expect experience/understanding of, or interest in, Special Educational Needs/Disability in all our Trustees.
