We are currently working with a School based in Epsom and they are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant, to start ASAP. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support for a SEN Unit based within a mainstream school. This is a full-time temporary cover role for 3 weeks, with shift hours from 8:30 PM – 3:30 PM for 5 days a week.
About the Role:
- Provide 1:1 and group support for students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Assist with learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Help maintain a structured and supportive environment.
- Use visual aids, Makaton, or other communication methods as needed.
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and support staff.
- Assist with personal care tasks, where required.
- Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced in working with children with SEND.
- Familiar with Makaton and visual communication techniques.
- Understanding of early years development, particularly support strategies for children with additional needs.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to provide a calm and structured environment.
