We are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Operative to help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors at Edgewood School. You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the school buildings, grounds and vehicles, carrying out repairs, minor refurbishments and general upkeep. This is a varied, hands‑on role ideal for someone with strong all‑round maintenance skills and a flexible, proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities
- General building maintenance and repairs (e.g. joinery, plumbing, decorating, plastering, DIY)
- Grounds and garden maintenance
- Carrying out health & safety and regulatory checks
- Maintaining tools, equipment and vehicles
- Supporting contractors on site
- Contributing to an on‑call rota for out‑of‑hours emergencies
- Supporting the set‑up and development of a growing school environment

- Practical, organised and able to work independently
